My routine is challenge; my goal is strength & soundness, and my purpose is building up the clinic and with it better health for myself.

I enjoy running in the morning before work. Having plenty of equipment and some time early allows me to get fears and frustrations out while running. In the training program I’m participating in, a guide tours through Portugal hiking, climbing and running past beautiful terrain while I run along with him on my treadmill.

That running program; building up to a better, longer term goal step by step, allowed me to participate in my high school cross country alumni meet. Prior to taking on the challenge of running, I had not successfully run at all in years. It was never in the schedule; too much time at work or things to do at home, even my own body going against me at times. But steady, step by step progressions while visualizing the beautiful features along the coast of Portugal brought me back to a level of ability where I could run and finish under my estimated time; accomplishing a goal I couldn’t even see a few months ago. Working through the progress and recognizing the beauty in God’s creation kept me going forward, and eventually landing at a goal that I didn’t know was out there.

I know what my goals are for this clinic; but I might just not be able to actually see them yet. Every day is a challenge moving us forward as a practice, and I know each step I take purposefully is one more step forward towards lasting strength, soundness and stability for everyone involved.

Getting ready to work on a better, more healthy outlook on life? Find me running next in Iceland…err, I mean at Purpose Driven Therapy on the treadmill enjoying the new running program for this month!
